“Less volatility, diversification and decorrelation: what investors see in alternative assets” – Interview with Tasio del Castaño

Investments in alternative assets are gaining popularity among investors as they see them as a form of long-term investment without the high volatility, in the current market context of low interest rates. Understanding the greater demand for them, how to approach them and what they contribute to an investor’s portfolio were the main subjects addressed during the online event ‘Investment in Alternatives. Reducing volatility, diversification and decorrelation’, organised by Aseafi (Association of Financial Consultancy Firms).

Founding partner of MCH Investment Strategies Tasio del Castaño believes that the title of the meeting perfectly sums up what investors are seeing in alternative assets right now. “They undoubtedly provide diversification and, right now, this has gained importance as it implies greater profitability and better sources of profitability. Something that is essential in a context of low interest rates. Another advantage is that it gives us access to the real economy: investing outside the noise and speculation of financial markets. It also provides very interesting profitability/risk metrics and a low correlation with traditional assets, including fixed income”, says Del Castaño.
