Álvaro Sanmartín

Álvaro joined the AMCHOR Investment Strategies team in 2013 as Chief Economist and Advisor to Alinea Global, a UCITS fund advised by MCH.

Prior to this, he founded Equilibria Investments, SIL, the first self-managed free investment company authorized by the CNMV.

He was Partner in KPMG Spain in the Advisory area.

Previously, during his time in the Government Administration, he held, among others, the position of General Director of Macroeconomic Analysis and International Economics in the Ministry of Economy and Finance, with a team of more than 80 professionals and leading responsibilities such as the preparation of macroeconomic projections or managing relations between the Ministry and the EU (Ecofin, Eurogroup, European Commission, ECB,etc) and with various international financial institutions (IMF, EBRD, EIB,etc).

He has also been a member of the Board of Directors of several companies, both public and public-private.

Álvaro has a degree in Business Administration and Management from CUNEF and is a State Economist, having been number one in his class.
