Javier Maté de Santos

Javier is currently founding partner of Hélice Capital Advisors, an independent firm supporting institutional investors in their search for investment opportunities in Private Equity and other Alternative Assets. In 2016, he joined AMCHOR as responsible for Alternative Assets, advising the Group in its Private Equity, Alternative Credit, and other Illiquid strategies.

Prior to joining AMCHOR, Javier was one of the earliest employees of Altamar Private Equity, where he was in charge of the investment department team and was responsible for the US Buyout market and the Distressed Private Equity & Debt areas, equivalent to roughly half of the fund´s mandate. Additionally, he led the deal flow efforts and contributed to invest the Secondaries funds of the Group.

Before Altamar, Javier was part of the Corporate Finance/Transaction Services team specialized in Private Equity at PwC in Frankfurt, Germany, where he was involved in numerous buyout deals. Prior to that he was responsible for overseeing the internet subsidiaries of Deutsche Telekom in Southern Europe, involving more than twenty internet websites in Spain, Italy and Portugal.

Javier speaks and writes fluently in Spanish, English, German and French. Additionally, he earned his CFA Certification in 2008.
